How many suitcases per person for overseas flight? |
How many suitcases per person for overseas flight? Here is the correct answer. 2 checked-in 50 lbs each max. If it is between 50 to 70 lbs ( 70 lbs max )you pay extra, varies from airline to airline....say about $100 or so per bag. 2 personal carry-ons and 2 suitcases per passenger. In general it is the same as flying here 2 carry on bags, and 2 bags to be checked onto the plane. The only significant difference is that in general the bags you check can weigh more. 70lbs I think. It depends on where you are going though. two. You can go to the airlines website and they will give you the weight for each suitcase. You do not want to pay for being overweight. Pare down for traveling. Buy little plastic bottles to put your shampoo or what ever into so you don't take big heavy bottles or bring a bottle that is almost empty so you don't have to bring something back. Bring layers-one or two light jackets that you can wear with everything. Limit the number of colors and plan on dropping your clothes off at a laundromat. Don't bring a lot of shoes. They weigh a lot The rules have changed recently. It depends on the airline and the flight, and perhaps even the type of ticket you have. Your best bet is to call your airline and ask what your limits are. And if you are doing any moving around while you are there (from city to city or hotel to hotel), less is more. You won't want to be hauling 4 50lb suitcases, 3 duffel bags, and a briefcase and purse on the trains, subways, buses, and taxis. With the high price of jet fuel, airlines are adhering to their limitations. I suggest you check the rules for your particular airline - or you might get an expensive surprise. Why not try packing light? Your trip will be more fun with less stuff. Check my packing page to read how I went to Europe with just a carry-on - for 8 weeks! |
