How crowded is Provincetown at the beginning of the Summer ?

We are planning to go on June 30, and stay for 3 or 4 nights at P-town leaving on July 3 or 4. Please give me your advise. The thing is we want to avoid the summer crowd, but we don't know if June 30 - July 3 is an uncrowded time or if it is going to be crowded by that time.

It's crowded all summer long but the crowds are never a problem . Without the crowds it's boring there. I don't know if you are planning on staying over night but for my own personal reasons I wouldn't stay at a motel, hotel,or bed and breakfast there. I always stay at a motel in a town near by. It starts to get crowded in April and it lasts until the end of August. But that's when you want to go because when the crowds are gone hardly anything is open. The crowds really aren't that bad. Everyone has a laid back attitude and they're very nice. I love going to P-town in the summer. I think you picked a great time to go.
