How is the cost of living in Andover, MA?Compared to the rest of the USA? |
My family may be moving to MA in or around Andover. Does anyone know how much the cost of living is out there? As far as car insurance?Food? etc??? Andover, MA is one of the most expensive towns to live in in the state. Even though it isnt too close to Boston. Methuen and Lawrence are cities next door that are MUCH cheaper, but not nearly as nice. The Andover school system is very good, car insurance is on the cheap side compared to the rest of MA, and it is a very safe town. As the other writer mentioned, Market Basket is the best supermarket around as far as prices go. Overall, MA is a very expensive state to live in...so be prepared. Hope you're a Sox fan! :) Food is about average - actually because of one of the supermarket chains (MarketBasket - ranked tied for No 6 best in the country by Consumer Reports - which positions as Low-prices-without-frills) food prices can be a bit lower (MarketBasket emphasizes lobster specials every month or so, by the way - bon appetit!). For more upscale tastes greater Boston is also served by Trader Joe's (CR tied for No. 1) stores. living in massachusetts alone is expensive. andover is in the north shore area which is somewhat expensive. its about 30 mins from boston. (homes are more expensive the closer u live to the boston area. andover, ma is a pretty average town so the homes value is probably $370,000 (average) |

It's crowded all summer long but the crowds are never a problem . Without the crowds it's boring there. I don't know if you are planning on staying over night but for my own personal... Check out the comparison site ... Additionally to the Best Western there is a Hampton Inn. Both it and the Best Western Roundhouse are only a 5 minute walk to Boston Medical Center. There is also a hotel close to Andrew subway s... are you for real mass is full historical sites....freedom trail, Lexington memorial, garrison house come on you need to study more ...yes it is a city/town in illinois ...yes just one but its very small ...Philidelphia reminds me of what Boston could be. It has the same look and feel, but cleaner, friendlier and less traffic. You won't need a car, just a lot of money to afford to live here if you like camping, i would go to powder horn campground. they have tons of things to do, and its about a mile from the beach. all the hotels right on the strip are getting ridiculously expensive.... |
