Buenos Aires, Argentina: Best place to visit there.?

I will be returning to my parents home town (Buenos Aires, Argentina) for a week. I have not been there since I was a little girl. What activity/place should I visit to get the BEST out of my week?

I was there for a week not that long ago and I tried to make the most of it by doing touristy things in the day, shopping in the evening and going to the fantastic restaurants/bars/clubs at night. Sure you get tired, but you only have a week so make the most of it.

You can combine a few of these places in the same day, as many places are quite close by:

- Strolling around Palermo Viejo/Palermo Soho (also great shopping/markets).
- La Boca/San Telmo
- La Recoleta cemetary and area in general
- Colon Theatre and surrounding areas
- the flea markets (can't remember where they are though)
- Casa Rosada and surrounding areas (Cathedral, orginal parliament house etc.)
- The lakes district
- Shopping down Calle Florida (check out the Galerias Pacifico) and Av Santa Fe
-The Malba museum and other museums
-The botanical gardens
-Puerto Madero
-Plaza de Mayo

If you have some spare time, catch a ferry to Colonia (Uruguay) only 1 hr from BA!

Anyway, have fun . . . make sure you make most of the BA nightlife. There are so many places to chose from, most of the really cool places I found where in Palermo Hollywood, Recoleta, the Microcentro and Puerto Madero. (Puerto Madero is great at night)!

Viva los potenos!

When i was there, my favorite part was going to the bars because everyone was so friendly an laid back... you should definitely walk downtown to see all of the buildings. and go on florida street!! going to la boca is interesting because theres a lot of history around the city... such as old buildings from where many different families lived there. you should go check that out too.
