San Jose del Cabo Beaches... Nice?

How are the beaches in San Jose del Cabo? We're staying at the Presidente Intercontinental... is it nice there?

Is it worth renting a car? My wife and I are not not real crazy party heads...

If you want to swim, I'd drive over to the gulf side. The Presidente is on the Pacific side and there is a wicked undertow. There are some great boarding beaches but they're about 45 minutes away. Worth it if you go for the day and pack a lunch.

I've seen the Presidente and it looks pretty fancy. My husband's family has a villa down there so I've never been in a hotel.

A car is worth it if you plan to drive into Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo for lunch/dinner/shopping every day. If you plan to mainly stay in the hotel, taxis aren't too bad for the occasional trip into town (The Presidente is pretty even between the two towns).

There is now A Costco and a Wal mart down there. Sad, but convenient.
