Well depends right now in Calgary you can get a job basically ANYWHERE you can go work at a warehouse starting $16 an hour.

If you want to buy a house you probably need to make at least 60-80K per year

Rent for anything decent with at least 3 bedrooms will likely be at least 1600.00/month
If you're looking to buy, you MIGHT get lucky and find a 3 bedroom 60ish bungalow for 300-350k.
At least there's no provincial sales tax but at this time you have to pay health care premiums which would be over 100/month for a family.

But Calgary has a BIG labor crunch. I mean, they can hardly find anyone to do anything anymore. Let's put it this way. If you wanted to work at a Dairy Queen full time, you get paid at least 11 bucks an hour.
So imagine if you had a job with a company....
