How do I get cheaply from Calgary to Vancouver? Is there a bus or should I fly or hire a car?

Am going to the Calgary stampede on holiday amongst other places and not sure of best way to do it. I want to start in Calgary then go to Vancouver and end up in toronto then fly back to London all in 2 1/2 weeks.... Could be a bit of a tall order....

It can be done. You will be here in Calgary at what would be considered "high" season, so flights will be costly. You could take a bus to Vancouver, it would be a beautiful ride where you can really see the sights, awesome. I would fly from Vancouver to Toronto though. That would be about a week or more on the bus. Westjet offers reasonably priced flights if you book early. Check out this site for flights and see if there is anything there. www.valerie.myttn.com

Have a wonderful vacation!!

Get on your bike

There is both a bus and a train from Calgary to Vancouver, are not expensive and both are good services.
Often at backpackers hostels there are folks looking to share a mini bus, so that's another option if they all want to get to Vancouver ofcourse.
Yes start in Calgary, then up to Vancouver and fly over to Toronto. Greyhound bus takes 3 days and 3 nights. there is also the train but it takes a long time, 2 days and two night. Internal flights are not expensive.
Travel is very easy in Canada, they are well geared up for travellers and transport is clean and comfortable.
Another option is to try and find someone who wants their car delivered to Toronto from Vancouver, you could drive it and get paid for it too. This is quite common in Canada.
Enjoy

There are regular buses to Vancouver from Calgary. You can also fly or drive. Depends on your budget. Or you can go by train.
