Which is the best souvenir from Chandigarh, India?

"open hand" is the symbol of Chandigarh so if you could get something from there that would b nice! and around Sukhna lake there are some shops so u could get something there!

i don't know even though i am indian i have never been in india, but i think that a key chain wouold be good or some clothes with the name on it

There are plenty of Shopping Avenues in Chandigarh. Sector 17 is a fully commercial sector which houses all the major brands and shops that cater to wide array of taste and pocket. Other popular shopping places are Sector 22, Sector 35 and Manimajra. Go arround the market and you would find what you want.

sector 17 is posh shopping area- you can not get any origional sovenir from here but can MNC brands.

Chandigarh is famous for ROSE GARDEN, ROCK GARDEN, SUKHNA LAKE. I think picture post cards will be best idea.

Chandigarh is not an old town , so nothing much to symbolse the Place except as some one says "Open Hand" , But it is in north part of India and Capital of Punjab which is famous for Phulkari works .There are Govt Emporiums in Sector 17 ( Famous shopping hot spot) where you can look for ethnic stuff in Phulkari and other Hot Stuff people buy from there . I sent some Silk Scarfs to Europe and poeple loved that .Also small Carved Jewellery Boxes were hit in Europe. Not very expensive BUT if you want one can even Buy very expensive items there. Wooden Ethnic carvings like "Charkha" , "Butter Milk Maker " etc are alos cute. Go and see . The place is Govt Shop and no bargains (Fixed Price) , Thus getting fleeced is not a possibility. Anil

Govt. museum has very good and exclusive yet not so costly printed drawings of artist(I have forgotten his name but he is a russian settled in Naggar of Manali & husband of heroine Devika Rani). I purchased one for each of my favourite friend.
