Hi. Shd i take an auto from chennai central or an auto??? im going to mylapore so plz tell me?

im on a tour. of chennai so it would be gr8 if any1 could help me!!

Well..Chennai Central itself falls under Mylapore...so be more clear about where u wanna go in Mylapore as auto people are very cunning over there..a thorough knowledge will help u from beeing looted by them....

Chennai central doesn't fall under mylapore.
Mylapore will be around 6-7kms from central station. There will be pre-paid auto service available outside central station. Go for it atleast you will be charged nominal. But auto fares in chennai are higher compared to other cities like bangalore/Hyderabad.

U better take a bus from central to mylapore...
many buses are available.It will be cheaper then auto fare...

Chennai Central to Mylapore is about 6 Kilometer and you have prepaid Auto service from Central. In addition there is a board displaying the distance and the applicable rates and you can use that as a basis to negotiate with the Auto.

Best to hire prepaid as otherwise you will be taken fro a ride by Auto's in Chennai. Don't trust the meters as they are not reliable.

You can also take Bus service as they are also very frequent and good, depends on the time (rush hour you will find hard to get into the bus).*

If you do not have any luggage it is better to go by bus to Mylapore from Central. It will be cheaper and the distance is about 6-7 kms. I would avoid taking auto in Chennai, as they are cheats and for your destination they may ask you any amount (even a couple of thousand rupees), where as the actual fare should not exceed Rs. 40/= to 50/=in any case. If you get pre-paid vehicle you can take.-
