Does anyone know if you can climb Chile's Villarica volcano during their winter?

I will be in Chile in August and would like to climb the volcano. Is this an option or is skiing/snowboarding the only possibility during this time of year?

Yes, you can climb volcano Villarica, provided that you contact the local tourism company which is in charge of the trekking, mountain climbing. My best advice will be to go to Pucon and find a travel agency which can provide the service to you. You cannot climb it on your own, you need an expert guide to lead you through the path which is destined for climbing and not skiing. Pucon has much better travel agencies and extreme sport shops than Villarica so go straight to Pucon.

I from Chile, and yes you can to climb villarica, it's a beautiful place, I didn't know it but I think is a beautiful place!!

good luck here!!
