Do I need a visa (I am US citizen) if I am traveling through Chile and not flying there directly? |
Do I need a visa (I am US citizen) if I am traveling through Chile and not flying there directly? of course u need visa to Chile is $100.00 dollars and if u want to go to Bolivia the same price, same price for Brazil, $100.00 dollars even. U can go for free for now to Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay till 90 days. Otherwise u can visit each home page of each country. Remember take care!!! without visa u can deported to the country of origen they dont care if u r US Citizen. You can use this website to see if you need a transit visa for Chile. Just enter your nationality, transit point and destination and click for ht info and it will tell you. A visa should only be required if you are spending an extended amount of time in the country, for example, a long vacation would require a tourist visa. To be sure of the requirements contact the Chilean embassy in Washington DC John, you're asking the same question about a lot of countries. Just go here to find out about all the countries you'll be visiting: john I agree with tonalc1 -I see your asking the same question while the link he has given you before answers it all for you You won't need a visa, however you will have to pay a US$100 Entry Tax in cash (if you haven't done so already) to enter the country. The government charges American, Canadian, Australian and Mexican citizens an entry tax, because they charge the same amount to Chilean citizens when they apply for a visa. You only have to pay once and your passport will be stamped which will be good until your passport expires or is cancelled. |
