Is people like edison chen the reason why HK enterainment industry is so bad?

Hk entertainment industry was once 2nd to none in entertainment with quality actors and actresses. However in the last 10-15 years, it no longer produces anything worth watching. The actors/actress do not know how to act, sing, or do anything. People like edison chen are not even from HK and have tarnished the reputation of the industry that was already fledging. His sex photo sting, including pictures of underage girl Vincy Yeung (probably 16 at the time of the photos) is a disgrace to not only the industry but to the whole international community. Does HK have no quality talents they can produce and only import canadians like edison chen who abuse the industry for his sexual exploits.

Even without the Edison Scandal, the entertainment industry has been down since 1999.

The HK industry keeps finding teeny bopper idols such as Twins, Edison Chen, Mandy, Joey Yung, and the rest of those "pop icon" to perform movies to make the big $$$$. However, it works. So many people watch their acting regardless of how terrible it is.

So it isn't just Edison, viewers, the industry, and the actors/singers themselves are all the reason why the industry is declining

Why Push all the blame to Edison Chen.Its The GIRLS cant consider themselves as victims..I just like many of u whom hv seen the pictures. U can definetely See them enjoying it(the sex) with Edison Chen.These Girls, Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, Cecilia Chung have and must know they were not forced by Edison to take themselves doing the thing Oral sex Anal sex etc.They are paid a High Price for what they hv done.They(the Girls)must bear full consequences too.Honestly They dont deserved to gain any pity.They are grown ups and they too should know how to deal with it

yes he is a bad example. entertainment stars are worshipped as idols. he basically cheated on his best friend's wife, had sex with another girl who was enaged, underage girl, and probably bragged about this to his friends, otherwise it wouldn't have leaked out. I never thought he nor any other young stars had talent in the HK entertainment industry. It is pretty much a dying industry because the old stars who built it from the poor HK of the 1960s are old, and the new stars like edison chen and the rest of the whores in his picture are whores. edison chen is not even from HK, the enters the industry just to exploit sex.

The exploits of Mr Chen is only the tip of the iceberg. What is under the surface is an industry which is systematically corrupting young girls who are lured by big company executives with the promises of parts in movies or career promotion. People like Edison find that by the time the girls meet him, they have already been through 'education' in the hands of many recording and movie executives on their casting couches, and are ready to do almost anything he asks of them. It is widely accepted that these 'starlets' are there for the picking. They are no unwilling blushing violets any more. As more and more young Chinese girls flock to the bright lights of HK and China's Tinsletown, they are taught to behave no better than porn actresses. Mr Chen may feel that he is a victim. But he is part of the exploitative industry, and the girls are the real victims, although by the time they become one of the crowd, they are as predatory as the rest. Mr Chen's slip-up may have helped to open the lid on a can of worms. As for charity work? I doubt it somehow.
