Does the Edison Chen scandal prove that Hong Kong society is messed up? |
Edison Chen is a victim of this case. Why did he need to apologize? He did not release the photos. It's not illegal to take them as well. However, the people like Kira who uploaded them are those who are guilty. Why is HK placing so much hatred on Edison Chen and nowhere do we see as much hatred on people like Kira. Does this prove that HK society is messed up? I definitely agree. Edison is as much a victim as the female stars involved. They might be accountable for their public behaviours, (because of they are celebrities) but they are definitely not accountable for their (legal) private behaviours to anyone. Is having sex with your girlfriends or dates a crime? So he happens to be popular with girls, is that a crime? So he likes to keep pictures of their sex lives, is that wrong? We have to understand that just because so many girls sleep with him doesn't make him a bad person. The girls themselves were not forced to sleep with him. Even if Edison is the playboy type who date so many girls, perhaps at the same time, is that really our business? Besides, who is to say that the girls themselves are not also dating more than one person, or I'm sure most of them have had their fair share of boyfriends, no less than Edison. Edison got what he deserved. He slept with all those girls, taking pictures and showing them off to his friends......he cheated on his supposedly gf Gillian and commited adultery with Cecila Cheung just before she was married to Nicholas Tse. Now they might divorce. Bobo Chan's wedding is also off. I have to disagree. Edison is not really the victim in this incident. No one is, really...Edison, Gillian, Cecelia and Bobo are all equally responsible. They are the ones who took the risk, and now they are facing the consequences. I can't believe that somebody was enough of a lowlife to actually distribute those photos, and it angers me that so many careers may be ruined because of it. I do not blame his Hong Kong fans for being angry, but I for one think that his private life should remain private. One personal scandal, no matter the magnitude of it, does not change the fact that he is a good singer. Edison is just a normal guy. He had some GF's, or maybe just had some fun. He took some pictures, it's certainly his private business. That the pictures got stolen is not his fault at all. Whether he could have removed the pictures is in question, remember the PC was in the shop for repair, maybe it wasn't functional before. There is nothing mess up... Edison Chen is son of a ***** Well I dont think HK is that messed up, I just think they are too star obsessed. Edison is a dumbass for letting those pictures be easily accessed but he's only an entertainer and I can understand the nude photos is a big deal and it caught my attention too but you do not have to treat this like he did some terrorist acts or anything. I though this whole thing was blown out of proportion. I think your answer depends totally on what stand in moral you taken. Basically, I am no fans of anyone. Hong Kong or other places, the celebs are tend to be having lower standard on morality and their private lives. I don't think just because it is private means that you can do wrong. Confucius says: Be cautious when you are alone. Why? That's because you are unseen and many evil thoughts might come up. And if you do not control yourself, some day some time, the faults will be disclosed and others have the right to dispise you because you make the society's moarility lowered. This is no good to the adults, no good to the youth, no good to those young fans of 'twins' who might be just a few years old. There are so many infamous figures in history who has done things wrong -- immoral or otherwise and history have given them a fair remarks. The Edison scandal is a scum because he didn't have even the courage to face the public till he got the 'scripts' from his lawyer to pronounce it in public those photos are his properties and should not be disseminated. From the legal angle, I feel enraged that the law is utitlised to make profits for this scum instead of protecting those young souls who are contaminated by his photos. Personally, I did not see any of his photos and did not ask and comment on the obscenity. hm..I think he should apologize b/c he is the one who actually took the picture, I mean seriously, why would you take photos while making up? And if he uploaded the pictures into his computer, why would he tell a stranger to fix it, doesn't he know what will the outcome be? But b/c of his pictures, that doesn't mean that HK's society is messed up b/c he's the only one like that, not everyone. NO. EDISON CHEN IS THE MAN! Anyways, he is canadian and not from hong kong. Have u ever liked a canadian? People who uploaded the photos are not guilty. The HK police with its triad backers is guilty. You really buy that story that he would send a porn-loaded computer for repair? And community and charity work for the next few months? PUHAHAHAHA! Edison Chen is probably smiling and laughing now at what a man he is. Interesting question Aprt from Edison Chen, all the girls featured in the scandal are just as bad as role models and a TRUE disgrace to the HongKong Entertainment Industry. These Girls apparently doesnt mind being their photos taken. |
