Does Cleveland really rock?

Is it a good place to live?

Yes! Cleveland is great. The city is just big enough that it can offer great things like major league sports, annual events and festivals, world class cultural institutions, thriving arts and music scene, diverse housing stock, renowned hospitals, variety of restaurants and year-round recreational opportunities. But the city isn't too big or crowded, so it isn't very expensive or inconvenient to get around.

It also has a history and ethnic fabric that you can't get in many parts of the country today. Huge numbers of immigrants poured into the city and left their mark on neighborhoods, churches, restaurants and festivals in Cleveland. Cleveland is often considered a kept secret, because it isn't at all touristy and it has maintained its authenticity.

It has something for everyone. There are all different kinds of urban and surban communities that blend together into one great metropolis. A lot of people say Cleveland is great for families and not much else. That's not true. I am a single college grad and having way more fun and extra cash than my friends in other cities. People here are responsible when it comes to their job, but aren't too serious and enjoy life more than anything.

It is kind of like an east coast city with midwest hospitality and rock and roll.

close , they are all stoned

yes, i lived there for 2 years of grad school and sometimes wish i never left--very underrated and overlooked city

yeah, it is a wonderful place with many opprotunities

yes it is a family friendly city that you can go to sports game whenever, spend time together, go to a great college, and have loads of fun. it rocks in tons of ways including music wise!

Does Cleveland really rock? Yes! Is it a good place to live? Absolutely!

I adore Cleveland. The city is rich with personality and culture, and I couldn鈥檛 image not living on Lake Erie. People who visit the area are often overjoyed to have dinner by the water, something that I have found many northern Ohioans take for granted.

From Cleveland one has easy access to the Erie Islands (Put-in-Bay and Kelleys), to Sandusky (Cedar Point), and to Canada. Within the city, there is a vibrant culture of theatre, art, comedy, and music. Whether it鈥檚 boating, ballet, musicals, galleries, stand-up comedy, or concerts, Cleveland offers it all.

Also worth noting are the fine educational institutions in the area. Case Western, Oberlin, and CSU all bring to the area their own brand of diversity. My feeling is that these students help keep Cleveland youthful and progressive, which is often needed to keep a big city thriving.

I can鈥檛 talk about Cleveland without mentioning the food. There are plenty of pubs, bar-and-grill type eateries, and fine dining establishments. Whether you are looking for a quick beer and burger before an event at The Jake (Flannery鈥檚), a Cajun dinner with live entertainment (Fat Fish Blue), or fine dining at its best (Michael Simon鈥檚 restaurant, Lola鈥檚), you have no problem finding what you hunger for in Cleveland.

Sure, the weather is seasonal, many have developed an appreciation for it. There is nothing sweeter than the first snow falling on downtown Cleveland just like it did in A Christmas Story (the movie was filmed in Cleveland), or the first boating trip of the season on the clear water of Lake Erie.

Keep in mind, if you slip and fall at any point, you have The Cleveland Clinic right here to fix you up!

All of this, not to mention superior loyalty for their sports teams through thick and thin--Cleveland has something for everyone!
