Have you gone to Cedar pointe on opening day?

We are! We're going to go on opening day, which is May 10. Now, we've made a tradition out of going on the very last day,and it's always in the 40's in October, with a freakishly cold wind blowing in off the lake, but it keeps the crowds down. But we've never gone on opening day. Will it be an absolute mad-house? Or will it be dead? Or somewhere in between? And what about the weather? Hopefully in the 50's? Thanks to all who post!

We always go opening & closing weekend! It's not as much of a madhouse as you might think. The weather is usually cooler so some decide to stay away. Last year opening weekend was around 50's - 60's but windy so it felt chillier. TAKE A HOODIE!!

This year, there are no new coasters, only a new Snoopy thing for the kiddies so it won't be as crazy as it is when there's a new thrill ride or coaster out.

I used to live in Akron, so that was fun to run up there. It was a madhouse and we had to carry coolers for a long hike after a wait to get in. I don't remember the weather since it was usually miserable.

I never have but I wish I could spend the rest of my life there. Have fun!

u think??? its going 2 be a total mad house! when it falls on a school day families take off school! people who live here take it for granite and thats y its sooooooo crowed. also go on labor day weekend. there was hardly no1 there when i went.[ well like about 150 people and up but thats really good compared to other days! i wanna buy season passes this year! have fun!!!!!

if u dont mind 4 hour lines and crazy big crowds then u wont mind goin on opening day.
