Expensive, its a huge concrete jungle, blocks of close built so called villas and apartment blocks with a few golf courses chucked in to try to lure people over, they need the golf courses to escape being overlooked by all the neighbours. The market for property is not good at the moment, prices are very high, alnmost on the same scale as the UK, the price you see a property at is not the price you pay, you need to allow another 15% to cover all the taxes. The market is very flat, prices are high and nothing is selling, I see many properties that have been up for sale for well over 12 months. The cost of living is no cheaper than the UK and there is a huge issue with inheritance tax, so if you are planning to buy over here to try to escape the Uk taxes, forget it, its payable on all property worth over 15k鈧?and you can't sell the property to pay the taxes, local taxes are going up by 35% each year to 2012 as there are huge debts by the town halls. To look at property, get online and read whats going on in the Costa Blanca News and have a look at some of the websites around, to get a feel for the place, its not what its cracked up to be at all!
