Does anyone know of nice places around Valencia within a seventy mile train journey or ,travel time 1 hr?

I am aware of the coast line ,but Iam talking about going inland to nice areas that are within one hour train journey time. That also means that it has to be on the train net work. thanks

About 1 hour away from Valencia are a host of towns, some coastal but unspoiled. Gandia, Oliva are two, further inland I can recommend Bocairent, a tiny town, has a railway link, consists of two halfs, one modern, and the other old, quaint and medieaval, I have pictres of this town on my photo albums on my 360 page. there are some superb walks around the town, some superb alleys and streets to explore

Hello

I live in San Francisco and I love going up to old Sacremento to the old part of the city. Nice shops, and fine eating establishments. It makes for an enjoyable afternoon excursion. Also if you like animals the San Francisco zoo or Pier 39 is a must see. A great family event if you are a family person.

Thanks for your question
Deb

I would suggest going to Javea or Xabia in Valenciano. A lovely old town, nice restaurants in the Port and holiday resort on the Arenal. Three distinct areas of Javea and each has a different charm.

Take a train from the main station to Gandia - costs less that 4 euros one way. Gandia is an unspoilt small town, there is the Borga's palace there if you are feeling cultural, shops that are all in the same area nearby. A beatiful square to eat at the town hall (Ajuntamiento).

A short taxi journey will take you to Gandia Grau, which is the 'resort' area. This is fairly busy place, but not many English people, and the beaches there are in my opinion the best in the area.

Gandia or Grao de Gansia is a nice place to stay/visit

I go every year as my Auntie owns an apartment in the Grao. It is about a 50 minute journey from Valencia train station.
