Is valencia the best place to stay for the night before the la tomatina festival?need any advance bookings?

la tomatina will be held on 30th aug.

La Tomatina is an absolutely gross waste of over 125,000 kilos of tomatoes...when so many people in the world are starving.
Of course if you find it fun to end up drenched in squashed tomatoes, it must be your thing

Bu帽ol, where it is held, is only 40 kms. inland from Valencia on the road to Madrid (about a 20 minute drive)

Your best bet is to stay in Valencia. There are dozens of fine hotels there. It is always good to reserve beforehand, especially for august...tourist month par excellence. Especially on the last days of the month when the holiday-makers are returning to their homes, many by car. Most of the 3 star hotels are very nice & fairly priced, no reason to go to a 4 star.
