Do you think the way Midleton has expanded ................? |
.....in recent times we will soon be part of the city? Yes over the past couple of years it has changed so much that people who have been away for a while wouldn't recognise it now. It is heading that way alright. I'm from Dublin and love Co. Cork. It looks as if Midleton will be one long urban strip unless the Co. Council organizes some green zones quickly. One good thing that will happen soon is the railway reconnection, offering a decent alternative to the car and bus. It is scheduled to finish in 2009 - I understand some preliminary work has begun already. I doubt it will be part of the city anytime soon, I think it will keep its status of separate town. But it will be more and more a great commuter town to live in, and the railway will help. Also keep in mind that being such a convenient place to live for people who work in Cork City, and assuming that the number of people getting jobs in Cork City will always increase, real estate prices will go up and people will have to start looking into other options, such as Castlemartyr, Cloyne, etc. |
