Where to park my car in Darwin for six months?

I have a need to park my car (van) for about six months, somewhere in Darwin, N.T., Australia. Obviously, I would not leave it on the street for that long. Is there any long term parking option in this city? I can imagine people coming here during the Dry season and leaving for the Wet, perhaps some of them leave their cars in some kind of long term garage? Airport maybe? I might be willing to let someone use it while I am gone, provided that they don't drive it much.
Thank you in advance!

I would not even leave my car in Darwin alone for 2 minitues. I have not been there but my friends were there 3 months ago. They said its a great city nice people but not all of them are nice. There is a higher crime rate in Darwin.

If you have to leave your car in Darwin, take your keys with you and just leave it at the airport but it might make a hole in you wallet!

I think you'd be better off hiring a self-storage shed there, rather than looking for long term parking - far less expensive. Try the Australian Yellow pages online and use keywords like "self storage" or "storage shed" etc...
