Which direction is the prevailing wind between Adelaide and Darwin Australia?

I will be bicycling and I would prefer to go with the wind.

Adelaide is in the South and Darwin is in the North. Prevailing winds rarely go from North to South. They are usually in a more West to East direction.

I would recommend starting in Darwin because it's further West, but the prevailing wind will be mostly from the side so it will make little difference.

Oh and good luck by the way, I'd love to do something like that one day.
