Is Darwin a good city? Is the university any good?

Hi, i'm thinking of coming from Canada next year to Darwin NT and I was wondering if anybody could give me input to what you think about it.
Thanks.

I woudn't mind the heat, and I come from a town of about 56 000 and before that a town of about 110 000.

Darwin is a modern tropical city. It is Australia鈥檚 smallest capital with a population of just over 100,000. However, it is considered as Australia鈥檚 most culturally diverse city. There are more than 50 nationalities make up Darwin鈥檚 population including the area鈥檚 traditional Aboriginal landowners.

It has an international airport and a cruise ship port. Some places you can visit are the Litchfield National Park, Kakadu (World Heritage listed) & Arnhem Land (Australia鈥檚 largest national park) and Katherine.

Darwin has a relax outdoor lifestyle and year-round warm weather. You can enjoy a fiery sunset at Darwin Harbour, visit Asian-style markets, year round famous Mindil Beach Sunset markets, hand-feed hundreds of fish at Doctors Gully, visit Museum and Art Gallery and see huge crocodiles and many more.

Hope this helps. If you need other information, see if the website is helpful.

Let me tell you, its pretty hot in Darwin all year round. A BIG change from Canada and its a pretty small city to tell you the truth

I love darwin but it's one of those places you either love and don't want to leave or can't wait to get out of. From late september until the rains comes they call it the silly season and the saying is people go troppo because of the high humidity. April to september although it's about 30 to 32 the heat is dryer and very nice.It is very australian but has a big multi cultural community. The population doubles in the dry season april to September as a large amount of tourists arrive creating a lot more jobs and more events happening.
