Is Denver Colorado an enjoyable place to live a a young person?

Does it have a music scene? Is it in tune with culture and diversity. What is the weather like?

In my opinion Denver is a great town for young people. Not sure what type of music scene you are into, but there is always live music somewhere around town. Plus the city has a bunch of different sized venues that bring in a wide aspect of acts. Typically if a band is doing a national tour Denver is a stop. The Mass transit system known as RTD is great and makes living without a car possible. If you are into sports Denver has all the major sports plus smaller ones like the MLS, Lacrosse, and Arena Football. Culture and diversity aspect is hit or miss but it is there. The weather is great and when it does snow in the winter it usually melts within a couple days ( last year was a fluke) Colorado Brews more beer than any other state in the nation and Denver has some great microbrews.

First you need to be able to afford Denver...its expensive...but a great place to live.

Denver is great! It's good for any age. Red Rocks, Coors Field, skiing, Jazz, Alternative, restaurants, Swallow Hill... there's a TON of stuff.

The weather is miserably hot or cold.

its great, hot in the summer cold in the winter

I am 25 and I adore Denver. It is my favorite city. The people are nice, it's clean, the mountains are beautiful. I wish I lived there.

Denver is pretty nice to live in. The transportation if you don't have a car is superb. You can get anywhere pretty much from Franktown to Brighton. From DIA to the mountains. I love Lo-Do. There's some good malls: Park Meadows, 16th Street, Westminster, Flatirons, Boulder, lots of others. The sports are pretty good at the arenas. It's a fun smaller large city.

I love it, I think it would be good for anybody to live but I'm 18 and yeah like I just said, I love it.

There's a big music scene is Denver definately, but music scenes are growing in other areas too in the mountains.

My school's campus is in the heart of Denver and it's very diverse, I have met people from so many countries.

Honestly the winter's are cold, nothing compared to like Nebraska though. It's the perfect place to talk about the weather because it's very cold in winter and pretty hot in summer, but the weather can change like 5 times per day and snow always melt by noon. :)

The people you find in Denver are amazing. It's really a transplant city, meaning many people have moved there and aren't originally from there. This is one of the things that makes it so easy to met new people. I lived in Denver for 7 years and moved to Boston. Have found the people in Boston harder to met than Denver.

The music scene is very strong. You get great concerts in the small town feel. You're in a major metro area but aren't competing with thousands of people in the surrounding community for tickets. The same is true for the local scenes at bars and taverns.

The weather is great. I miss that. You get 4 seasons but the summers can be very, very hot and winters can get pretty darn cold...but those snowfalls don't sit around for long. The sun warms the city in the winter and snows melt away pretty shortly after arriving (within days). You can get 60s in the winter, but be prepared for 100+ days in the summer. It's a dry heat, so no humidity which means it's considerably cooler in the shade. The sun can be extreme...you're much closer than in many cities so it can be hard on you.

If you're into the outdoors it's an amazing place. We use to joke that it was the place-of-gear...meaning you need tons of stuff to enjoy it...I had rock climbing, ice climbing, biking, running, snowshoeing, hiking, skiing, and countless other things. If you like that type of stuff you couldn't find a better place to live.

Moving is tough, but Denver is a great place and nearly everyone you meet there have done it too. Give it a shot. You can always head home if you decide it's not for you. At times...I might head back to Denver.

Good luck!
