What something fun to do in the Denver area?

I'll be up there in mid March for three days. One of those days I'll be seeing an Avalanche game at the Pepsi center, but I am not familiar with the area and don't know what else to do... Any ideas? It can be anywhere around Denver, I don't mind driving to surrounding cities. Thanks

Also worth asking is good places to eat. Probably a good steak house.

Knowing you're into sports, then you might also like :

1. Coors Field (the CO Rockies ballpark)
Also downtown and offers tour of the
facility. (I have below a link to their
website's tour page.)

also:

2. Red Rocks just outside Denver

3. Garden of the Gods (in Colorado Springs)

Allot about 6 hours for Garden of the Gods for full enjoyment.

With regards to steak, the one we go to is the Beaver Creek Chophouse at the Village in Beaver Creek Resort. We have not tried the Denver Chophouse in downtown Denver, but, I have heard they are equally good!

Spend a day walking around Boulder

If you're there around St. Patty's day then you have to check out Fado Irish Pub downtown.

Hit the slopes for a day if you have the time and means. Breckenridge or Copper mountain are easy to access and offer a bit of a town feel in addition to skiing. I especially like Breck.

The Keg house is downtown is catty-corner from the Chop house...both are good.

Denver has some great Mexican food too. If you're looking for a dynomite Marg...check out the Rio on 14th and Blake. I love their margs...very good and very strong.

Cherry Cricket in Cherry Creek is a great burger!

I love skating downtown if you like that don;t let the cops catch you. Other things to do are walk on and around 16th street mall or go up to 32nd ave and lowell blvd great stuff.
