COLORADO"ians". a question about aurora? |
Well i go to prarie middle school and ive been hearing that aurora is going downhill... also, people have been saying that its been getting really bad as in; more thugs, more crimes and stuff like that. Aurora is very large in both population and land size. The population is approx. 300,000 and it's the 3rd largest city in Colorado. Because of it's large size, it's hard to conclude that the overall city is getting worse. There are some nice areas and some bad areas. Overall, many of the bad areas of Aurora have suffered from property value depreciation and higher foreclosure rates compared to other areas of metro Denver. A bad economy and declining property values leads to an increase in crime. The bad areas are getting worse, but the good areas aren't. well.. im from littleton and i go to chatfield senior high.. but i agreee.. aurora is pretty ghetto.. I haven't lived there for a few years. It was bad when I lived there ('96). Yes thats why i moved to mi and the drogh was no good ether that's the rumor. there was just a big shooting there in a neighborhood. Move North young man. I used to live in Colorado... (lol) yeah..... I still think there are some good parts of Aurora, but the parts that were a bit seedy before are getting seedier. There has been so much growth in the last several years around the metro area and unfortunately crime and undesirable people come with that. I live in Lakewood and am seeing things go downhilll in parts around here too Honestly I dont think Aurora is that bad. Yes, Aurora does have its inner city problems as is continues to grow to the size of Denver and it shares much of Denvers innrer city. However, it is also a safe large suburb with some beautiful neighborhoods. Ya the crime is somehwta high but its not like Compton. you think aurora's ghetto head to 46th and broadway or MLK and Glencoe. |
