Malls. . . . . .?

does anybody kno whats a good mall to go to in southfield, MI or an hour away from here??

oh and can anyone tell me about portridge mall (i might have spelt it wrong sorry)

Just north of Southfield is Oakland Mall (Troy, MI) and The Somerset Collection (also in Troy, MI). Both of those malls are no more then 15 Minutes away.

As the previous person said, there is Oakland Mall and The Somerset Collection. Oakland Mall is just a regular mall. The Somerset Collection is very high-end and a little pricey, and much larger.

There is also Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights, but that's about an hour away. It has tons of other shopping and eating on the outskirts.

In Auburn Hills is Great Lakes Crossing Mall. It's supposed to be more of an "outlet" mall, but it's all indoors. There is a movie theater and a food court. It also has lots of shopping and eating on the outskirts. This is my usual shopping location.

There is Summit Place in Pontiac, but there are only departments stores now. Most of the other stores are closed, it's kinda sad.

*Briarwood
Eastland
*EastGate
Fairlane
*Great Lakes Crossing
Lakeside
Laurel Park Place
Livonia
*Macomb
Northland
Oakland
*Patridge Creek
RenCen Shops
Southland
Summit Place
Somerset North
Somerset South
Twelve Oaks
Universal
Westland
Wonderland (This used to be a inside mall but is now a strip mall with WalMart, Target and a few others but the Chili's Restaurant over there is first rate)

*Are malls that may take more than an hour to get to but they are worth the drive.

Go to http://www.visitdetroit.com and click on shopping for more information. You can also type in the mall name-"Westland Mall in Michigan" on any search engine for their websites as a few of them are not listed on the visit detroit website.

I hope this helps

farelane is a good mall...i LOVE it!!! they have TONS of shoe stores too....personally i like it better than great lakes crosssing...but i like ne mall better than there..lolz

Northland Mall is in Southfield on 8 mile rd. in between Greenfield and the Lodge freeway. It was the first shopping center in America that had major anchor stores, what later became the prototype for the modern mall. When it was built, it was all open air, then later they enclosed it. I hear they want to go back to the open air again.
Tel-Twelve Mall is also in Southfield. Located at the corner of Telegraph and 12 mile roads.
Good luck

Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi has made a lot of changes, its much bigger and nicer now.

If you're talking about Partridge Creek, its a lot of walking outdoors, although its supposed to be heated, I'm going to wait for a day when I don't need to wear a scarf and gloves to explore it. I'm excited though, its supposed to be really cool.

Well in Southfield, you have Northland, one of the oldest malls in American, You also have the Tel-Twelve Mall

Otherwise, check out Twelve Oaks, Oakland, Fairlane, Somerset, Great Lakes Crossing, Partridge Creek, etc.

Partidge Creek is a good mall on Hall Rd. and Romeo Plank, but it is way too cold to shop there now. It is all outside and it's supposed to be heated but I din't see that when I went a few days ago. I froze!!!! Wait til it get warmer.
