What are some good cities/ sites to see along the Pan American highway in Ecuador?

Hey!!! How are you? I am from Ecuador. Along the Pan American road, you can find cool cities like, Ibarra where you can visit Yahuarcocha Lake, paila ice creams, the city is old and white and you can have many touristic services. You have cities like San Antonio de Ibarra, Atuntaqui, Otavalo, Quito (Capital of Ecuador), Latacunga, Ambato, Riobamba, Cuenca and Loja. I think cotopaxi national park is close to the Pan American Highway - about 2 hrs south of Quito. You can take a short detour to tambopaxi lodge.www.tambopaxi.com, and eat and sleep at the foot of cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the world..these spectacular views must be worth a detour!!
