Is Ecuador safe to travel on my own?

Im going to Quito, Guayaquil and Galapagos next month.

As any country in the world, you need to do some essential things in order to be safe as there are robbers everywhere in the planet. Ecuador is a safe place in terms of terrorists, etc. Just be aware that any person can spot the tourist if they see them map in hand, camera hanging from the neck, etc. I have walked several times in downtown Quito and I've been safe. There are lots of policemen too. Stick to major roads, not dark streets, leave valuables in a safe in the hotel, things like that. Guayaquil is a more modern town so be careful there in terms of money, jewelry, etc. Galapagos will be very safe.

yeah.. why what are you afraid of in ecuador? birds and seals.. but watch ur back boy i might be coming after YOU
