Anyone know who is the new president in Ecuador?

Does anyone one know who was just elected the new president in Ecuador? My in laws live there, and I might move there soon, but Im not real sure, I am hearing alot of bad things about the president, and the goverment being "leftist" wich is not really good, cause it takes money from the working people and gives it to lazy people, and just gets the goverment officals rich while taxing to death the people who live there. If any one has any info on this situation I would be very grateful!

His name is President Correa. I definitely don't share his political and economic views, but I have to say that he is probably the smartest person that I've ever know. He has been able to capture all powers (legislative, judicial and others in his favor) in less than one year.
For a country that has had 16 head of states in the past 10 years (source:winkipedia), political turmoil is a fact of life.
However, the uncertainty of the future actions of this newly elected President is something that fears us the most. He is good friend of Chavez (Venezuela's President), he is not as radical in his speech towards the US as Chavez is, but he is certainly starting to do things similar to what Chavez has done.
It is not true that he is taxing heavily the working people and takes their money away. This isn't true, but we don't know what would happen down the road.
Honestly, I am looking for ways to migrate for the fear of the unknown that he has generated is making me look elsewhere. At this moment, I want to have my assets secure elsewhere until there is a clear picture of what is really going to happen.
If you are planning on visiting, come along. It is a wonderful place, if your plans are to settle here, I would recommend to wait a while until we find out what he is up to. (Dropping the leftist speech and start working)

As long as his name doesen't end in Bush, they will be ok.

Rafael Correa
