What efforts have been made to further this preservation galapagos islands? They are protected by the Ecuadorian national park system and it is prohibited to land on them without a government-authorized naturalist guide. Morever, it is stritcly forbidden to touch or otherwise molest in any way any of the wildlife. Even if a cute little sea turtle hatchling is flailing away on its back meters away from the surf and will die of exposure or be eaten by marauding seagulls, you can't legally flip it over or put it in the ocean. Nature rules. |
