Did anyone from egypt buy from amazon.com? how were the costum duties and shipping?

Many times dear, some experience good, some experience painful.
Books pass though ok, shipping also OK
Electronics is painful. I recall once I bought a camera for 172$ and paid 560 EGP customs (that was 10 years ago, $=3.4)
The best way was using Aramex. They offer a service called shop and Ship, where customs and clearance are fairly cheap, and u don't need to deal with the gov. agencies. They charge 7$ per 0.5 KG for shipping, and usually charge 10% duties. They give u a mailbox in the US, where u request ur shippment to be delivered, then they forward these items to Egypt.
I tried also Fedex couple of times, no customs, but shipping is too much
