I am trying to send a letter to Germany, how many stamps do I need?

It is a regular letter, just paper. Nothing fancy.

DONT put stamps on it, take it to the post office and have them weigh it and sent it AIR/LUFT.

If you don't your letter could end up going by SHIP and not PLANE and take months to get there rather than days, usually no more than 7-10 days.

No matter it a letter or a package always go and have it weighed, and tagged Air/Luft so it goes by plane!!

Go to the post office. They will be able to tell you there.

You might just be able to call them or check their website to get the information you need.

goe to your local post office they will tell you acording to the wight and size of the letter

stamps are needed per ounce.
not distance.
one stamp if it is a regular letter.

it depends on how heavy the letter is.

what country are you in - if its Australia you need $1.95.

Call 1-800-ask-usps and ask them.

click on www.uspostal.com

...take it to the Post Office... "they" need to process it for International travel...and "they" will check its weight...

Hahahhaa... that's funny. My roommate and I received a letter from our German friends from Solingen, and it came with like 20 stamps on there because they were not sure how many were needed, and it was VERY humorous. .... if it's for a friend, it might actually be something cute to do, and explain why you put so many on there because you wanted to make sure it got there.

Call post office to be sure.

how are we supposed to know if you don't say where you're from? If it's the US then check http://ircalc.usps.gov/

Get the letter ready to send and go to your local post office. They will be able to tell you how much and how many stamps you will need to buy.

A lot! Check with th epost office.

Visit your local post office or call them.

90 cents

http://ircalc.usps.gov/IntlMailServices....

If the letter is less than an ounce, then you need 90 cents worth of stamps. Which means you can overpay by using 3 normal stamps ($1.23) , or buy an international stamp for exactly 90 cents.

If your letter is over an ounce, you can look at the pdf file below on page 31, using column 3 to see how much you will need to pay in stamps.

In generally the people on the post office will be able to help you! Otherwise write above the address "Porto zahlt Empf盲nger" (Porto will be paid by receiver) ;-)

90 cent .. it used to be 84 cent.. i send letters all the time to germany

It depends on from which country you send it and its weight.
I recommend to go to the post office and ask.

And you better don't do what montanus said: "Geb眉hr zahlt Empf盲nger".
If you do it might be send back because the receiver must pay the postage plus a fee (gets punished therefore because you didn't put on sufficient postage). Do you want this?

Send it by fax , no need to fix any stamps .

its best to go to the post office because it goes by weight i send many letters to Germany before i moved back and i had letters come back because i just put stamps on it that's when i talked to the post office and they told me if you want to make sure the letter gets there bring it in

2 regular stamps will do it. no need to go to the post office. i do it all the time and my mail gets there...:)))

You better go to the post office. Airmail and how much is weight this can be cost more than 57 cents.

Just one, but it麓s value depends on
air or sea
weight of the letter
You have to see your postoffice.

from the US it is 1.95 USD. I send letters to germany on a regular basis, and with a 2 dollar stamp it takes normally 5-7 days to arrive.
