Don't approach him. For several reasons, this is an obvious scam.

1. The prospective employer is to send invitation letter to the Nigerian embassy nearest you in order to facilitate a visa. You are not to approach the immigration authorities, only the embassy.
2. You are not to pay any fees except the visa application fee.
3. The phone number given is a mobile phone number, not an (office) land line.
