I'm in Nigeria at the moment it appears to be the most corrupt country i have ever seen, whats the problem?

The problem is that its run by Nigerians just like Kenyas problem is that its run by Kenyans. just like Zimbabwes problem and increasingly South Africas problem. I think its in their blood to be openly and shamelessly corrupt whilst at the same time trying to present theirselves as democratic when they couldnt spell democracy for a bet.

GREED...

The problem is there are few people left in Nigeria, as most of them are over here.

Did I tell you I am a prince in my country....

Eeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Been there and done it.................They just see someone who may have money and think $1m...........it is horrible how they even treat their own people who have less money with contempt!
It is a horrible country!

One guy tried to charge me 20,000 nire for a 99p ball...........he came down to 150 nire though!

EDIT.........Nicely put JASON H..........spot on!

nigeria is officially the world most deeply corrupt country. Its not the fault of the people, but business and government practise means you can't get anything done unless you feed them a backhander. So thats the only system the people know

i wanted to go there if could be because of there poverty
i think that is why and there goverment has no control it seems

While your there can you collect my $1,000,000 i won on the lottery then i won't have to send the $250 to the courier company and get ripped off . Ta

I agree, but the problem does not stop there. The corruption is all over most "third world" countries. but the saddest thing is the most corrupt country and probably the reason for the corruptness in these countries is......READY.....YOUR BELOVED UNITED STATES OF AMERICA....HOME OF THE FREE.....The USA steals(practically) all of these poor countries natural resources from all of them. Oil, diamonds, gold, cobalt, gypsum, rubber......

We learnt it from our past colonial masters.
Somebody is paying our government foreign currency to act as "Uncle Toms".
A good solution for Nigeria (and other African countries) is to simply shut themselves out from the outside world for a while, come down to earth and resolve their problems.
The people should control their resources and determine who can and can't get them.
