Question about australia?

for some reason when i think of australia i have this fixed impression of a relaxing life. even if it is in the city or in the outback, i think of it as nature all around (not in the cities) but exceptionally clean and basically a heavenly place with little or no global political involvement. is it really like that or are there major problems like there are in the UK and US.

ok australia is an awesome place to live. a few things though.
1. we have been in drought for pretty much 15 years, and its getting worse.
2. our current government has sold pretty much every public asset we owned
3. current government is looking to make employees powerless when negotiating wages with employers, keeps giving big business massive tax rebates, while the average australian got a $6 a week tax cut
4. current government is a global warming skeptic, but now all of a sudden, they are global warming enthusiasts. could it be because there is an election this year?

ok.
now the good stuff
1. we have some of the most incredable animals found anywhere in the world
2. the bush is still there, and we have many very large national parks, many where you can actually explore the whole thing, at low cost (camping etc)
3. our cities are beautiful, we have the best beaches on earth, (eat your heart out california and hawaii), our girls are of course the prettiest girls on the planet (including my wife)
4. australians travel around the world to make sure that no where else can come close to how beautiful our country is. come say hello.

Australia is a great place to live. People stress no matter the environment, that is normally dependant on job and family matters. In the city it is a little bit of a rush, but most places are relaxed. Global and political involvement, its there but i don't think on the same scale as the US and UK

no dude i have been there and it is relaxing and they dont have many problems at all and even in the city its nice so you thought the right thing so .......Australia is a nice place to go for vaction nice weather and very nice ppl so is i were you if you had to pick a vaction i would go there any day its so nice and if you get the chance go to the beath and drive around very smooth and they let you how cool so ...................Have fun and that guy is so wrong they arnt goin power less and they havent been in drouht they have very nice weather some times very cold and rainy

You hit the Austria button dude, not Australia. I recommend a T-Shirt that says: "Austria: Mozart, no kangoroos"...

Australia is a great place to live, Ive travelled a bit and I wouldnt live anywhere else. It's not as laid back as people imagine though - we work hard, we have a very good climate for a relaxing lifestyle though, its usually warm so BBQ's, picnics, going to the beach etc are possible and enjoyable for most of the year.

We are very multicultural and most Australians (in cities at least) have friends and relatives from many backgrounds. Interracial relationships are pretty much the norm in Sydney.

Its VERY clean compared to say London - but that is partly because our cities are so young and we have a good health and welfare system - many doctors and hospital treatments are free.

Heavenly though Im sorry to say its not - we are multicultural but we do have racial tensions and communities who dont respect the police. They are the minority though, most Australians want to live harmoniously however some prefer to segregate/differentiate their communities from the rest of the population - that tends to be where the trouble starts. We had some riots a few years back - but they were mild as far as riots go - some cars got damaged, no one was killed.
