How long does it take to get to austria? |
hi can any one tell me how long it takes to get to austria from london by car.hope you can answer my question thank you You've got some good tips here from others - and I'd just add that we envisaged around 8-10 hours into Western Austria, but got caught with unexpected things that causd us to deviate [ French farmers blocking the roads at Bologne, then a snow storm outside Munich ] can make a big difference depending on which part of Austria. Vienna is a lot further away than Innsbruck. Once you've reached the continent by either channel tunnel or ferry, can be 8 or 9 hours into west Austria, again depending on where you're landing on the continent, and whether your able to continuously drive, or need to make stops etc. Generally head towards Munich making use of the autobahns, then there are several routes down into the different parts of Austria. Are you travelling East or West.Depends on which direction you want to go. i do the trip often as i am in graz austria ever month and it can take as little as 18 hours with a few short breaks but it is better to stay over at a gast haus/restaurant over night.......if your heading for salzburg, linz, graz ,areas then take.........dover, calais, bruge, brussels, aachen, frankfurt, wuerzburg, nurnburg, regensburg, passau, and into austria.......from lincoln england to graz austria it is 1600 kilometers....you must buy a VIGNETTE to travel on austrian motorway at boarder shop..cost about 8 quid for 10 days ,fuel is cheaper in austria than germany, have a good friend near passau with guest house if you need rest over night |
