Do I need a Visa to go to Austria if I hold a U.S. permanent resident card?

Do I need a Visa to go to Austria if I hold a U.S. permanent resident card?

If you have a valid US passport, then probably not if you're only intending to stay for 90 days or less. Otherwise, yes. Check out this website for more information: www.austria.org/visa/

I think you do.You need a schengan visa. You can use that visa to travel to any of the schengan countries in EU.

Citizens of the United States in possession of a valid U.S.-passport, are not required to obtain a visa for Austria for a period of up to three months if traveling as a tourist. If you are a resident of the U.S. but do not hold U.S. citizenship, a visa may be required. You should contact the responsible Austrian Embassy or Consulate in your area. There is a list of the countries that require a visa to visit Austria; however I only founded in German. Sorry. Sch枚ne Reise!!!!

Your visa requirement for Austria depends on your nationality, not on your residential status in America. For example if you are citizen of a European country, let say France or UK, you would not need a visa to visit Austria. On the other hand if you are Indian or Bangladeshi citizen, you would require a visa regardless of your residential status in USA.

You can get a complete list of the countries who require visa to visit Austria from:

I hope this is helpful.
