Vienna:Karntnerstrasse:Shops?

Can someone who lives in Austria or has visited Austria tell me what shops are in the Karntnerstrasse??

The Kaertnerstrasse stretches from the Ring to the Stephansdome - there are several hi tourist and gift stores on the main street. Mainly clothing (there is a prada store on one of the site streets) There are excellent book and religoous artifacte stores right behind stephans dome. If you are on the kaertnerstrasse and turn right - you go down the graben - there are wonderful coffe shops and hunting/loden stores down the graben. there are several well known juwelry stores down the street. Also silver stores and plates. At the end of graben you turn right again and you find a wonderful book and fountain pen store right at Freytag and Berndt.

What I am trying to point out that Kaernterstrasse itself is fairly short but the whole first district on the side streets gives a top quality shopping experience. There are a lot of hidden jewels in the whole fincinita. Once you start shopping there the better stores will tell you where the hidden secrets are.
Some stores are rather expensive but the stuff you get is top quality and will last for years (made in austria quality is excellent). I bought once a pair of shoes and the lastet for 4-5 years with almost daily use - compared to others who give up 6mon to 1 year of use.
There is also a shopping center with a great toy store - ringstrassen palais

there is an emi store. and als one of svarowsky. and lots of shops for people with too much money. its just shopping bullshit there. so i just hate that street.

Christian's right, Karntnerstrasse is one of the busiest pedestrian shopping districts in Vienna and the shops only go as far as the Opera house and Stephansdom cathedral. It has a lot of restaurants and cafes, like Venezia Pizzeria (you've got to go there - they have some of the most amusing murals in the ladies washrooms!), crystal and glass shops like J&L Lobmeyr, Austrian watchmaker store Laks, small churches like the Malteskirche, china ware at Rosenthal (this building has a most amazing wall mural on the second floor which you can see from the street), etc. There are also lots of street buskers there to liven up the atmosphere. When I was last there in May 2006, there was a young guy playing the didgeridoo, and quite well I must add. You will enjoy strolling around Vienna's streets inside the Ringstrasse. The Graben, Kohlmarkt, Mariahilfe, Tuchlauben, Braunerstrasse, Naglergasse are all other streets worth exploring. Also around Schwedenplatz there are some interesting shops and restaurants along Griechengasse, Fleischmarkt, Salzgries, etc. Have a great time walking around Vienna, I always do.

Its one of the most expensive shopping areas in Europe, you can find a lot of prime brand shops, the Vienna Casino, but also McDonalds. Kaerntnerstrasse is a pedestrian zone in the heart in Vienna and leads directly to St Stephens cathedral and fantastic to walk around, especially for tourists. As an Austrian I would never shop there - it's simply too expensive!
