I loooooove Sound Of Music?

It's honestly my all time favourite movie. When my Mother was younger she loved it too and she visited Austria and she went to the lake (where the von Trapp children fall into the water) and the pond where they dance around and she visited the glass house (In 'Sixteen Going on Seventeen' song)

I really want to go and visit these and other places where the movie was made!

My Mum said she's not sure if they'll still excist.

Could I go and visit these places??

There are a number of Sound of Music tours - they take in all the main spots, church, hillsides, mansion, lake. , the riding academy where the music festival took place. I don't know about the glass gazebothat may have been a set.... Here is a link to one of the tours. There are others.

I have been to the lakes area where many scenic areas were shot -- St. Gilgan and St. Wolfgang - two of my favorite villages on a beautiful alpine lake. Don't get stuck ONLY on S.O.M. stuff --- thats the hollywood version enjoy the whole region. It is stunning!

Yes, Sound of Music still brings a lot of tourists to Austria, especially to Salzburg.

Have a look here:

http://www.panoramatours.at/soundofmusic...

They provide info about the movie, the locations and you can even book a tour online if you want.

I think there will be other companies offering similar.
try googling "Sound of Music" tour

There is some great information at this site Wabby.

That must be one of the few classical musicals that I have never been able to sit through.
