To all Austrians spread over the world. Where are you at the moment? Why ? |
It would be so great to hear your story. My parents left Austria because of the Russian occupation after W.W.II. They were afraid Austria was going to be split like Germany was. I just passed my 50th year in the U.S. I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in California (we Austrians need our mountains, right?). I visit Austria regularly, and I am really proud when I manage to "pass" as an Austrian rather than a foreigner because I've worked so hard on keeping the language. (Now that Arnold Schwarzenegger is our Governor, I always get comments about the fact that both my German and my English are better than his.) |
