Suggestions for honeymoon?

Please need help. I am so confused by all the options. I want to go somewhere on the beach preferably in the Caribean. Budget is around $3000 - My wedding is in august. Mexico? Dominican Republic? I have heard jamaica is not very safe and people try to sell you drugs on the beach, not sure about that. Any suggestions about specific locations/resorts are greatly appreciated.

Here's what I know about traveling. I would not suggest the Dominican Republic as they don't like Americans and my husband's friend went there and said the food wasn't very good.

How about Antigua? I went there on my honeymoon and it was awesome. I also got married in August. We had to stop in Puerto Rico on the way home so we stayed there for a couple of nights too. I'd stay at the Wyndam. Mexico will be really hot in the summer. I've been to Acapulco(beautiful, recommend fishing), Cancun(beautiful with lots of ruins and things to do) and Puerto Vallarta(least favorite of the 3).

My last suggestion is to go on a Carribean cruise. You will see some of the islands during your trip and food is included.

Here's what my husband said about Jamaica, he's been there: If you go, stay at an all inclusive hotel, it's safer. There are some not so safe places that you would'nt want to go to because of theives and drugs.

We are leaving for the Bahamas this weekend and found a flight for 2 people for $719.00. Hotels are about $200 a night. We have a timeshare so I'm not sure about hotels. We are staying about 1/2 mile from the Atlantis(which is very pricey) but this way we can visit that hotel also.

Congratulations and hope you Have a Fabulous Honeymoon!

Ok, you want something close to the beach preferably in the Caribbean.
-Well in the Caribbean good places can be Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Cayman Islands also Aruba, Curacao, Barbados and St. Kitts & Nevis.
But it also depends where you are flying from since it can be several hours in an airplane.

Hi !,
I'm a VIP inbound tour operator here in the Dominican Republic and we have a special program for people who want to have their wedding and/or honeymoon in a very special place not to forget in a life time. The new trend is to wed and to honeymoon in the same hotel/resort, with or without some relatives as witness. Tell me what are you really looking for and I will make up a program within the budged you want to spend. The most people take a 1 week program
and some two weeks, all depending the budget. I have one of the best hotel/resort for young honeymooners. Just contact me at my e-mail and let me know all your questions and desires and in a short time I will answer all your inquiries.
Anyway, congratulations and happy Valentine's day!

We stayed at this resort last May in Cancun. We loved this place. The staff and food was excellent.

Everyday some one was getting married at this resort and of course honeymooned after. The resort is located on the right corner on top of the 7 in Cancun in the hotel zone. Perfect place, 2 beaches very calm and beautiful. This is an all-inclusive resort. However, if you want to step out, you are very close to all the clubs.

The tower building has the best views. Sign up for the Iprefer.com card and if available you will get an upgraded room at Dreams. The membership is free and has other benefits. Dreams is part of a group called preferred hotels.

Good Luck and happy honeymoon)

I would stay in the States with all the crazy thing going on outside of the country right now. You don't want to put you or your new bride in any danger. This should be good times to remember not bad ones. Have you looked into the Florida Keys. I have seen pictures and have heard that it is really beautiful down there and you don't have to mess with Pass Ports and Customs which can take a considerable amount of time away from your trip. That's where I would go. Good luck and have fun and be safe where ever you end up.
