If i want to do one of the tramps would april be ok in terms on weather?

my reason for asking is i want to avoid traveling in the bad weather in the northern hemisphere and i was thinking it usually improves in march or should i aim to come a bit earlier

By April the weather is starting to turn cold and frosts can be expected down to sea level in all the South Island and the lower North Island. A frosty start to the day generally means fine weather for the rest of the day.
It will rain, but based on April weather in the past, it won't be heavy or torrential rain.
Remember though that rogue weather patterns do occur, and the Wahine was sunk in Wellington Harbour in April.
In April there can be light snowfalls around the high country, but the snow does not usually hang around long until about early June.

a tramp scream a horemoan

its just bout wen it start to be cool so just check the weather regularly
