UK. Looking to move. Where is the friendliest and most picturesque village of town you know, in England or?

on the Welsh border (don't want to be too far from family so not as far Scotland, though I'd love it!). Thank you.

Try Lacock. It is a small village in Wiltshire close to the town of Chippenham (M4 motorway). From Chippenham it takes about 45 min to get to South Wales using the motorway. Anyway Lacock is very picturesque and the abbey has been used for the Harry Potter films (I think) and the actual village for BBC dramas. Have a look at http://www.britainexpress.com/villages/l... for more info on Lacock.

Hay on Wye. Its also world famous as being the best "book town" in the world- every other shop sells ne and antique books, you could find anything there you want at good prices. its also got an amazing half ruined castle, nice tea shoppes, and loads of cool pubs

Eardiland Herefordshire. Very pretty and also on the England/Wales border.

try the yorkshire dales, e by gum its grande up ere

Well i live in the Ribble Valley which is in the north west of England and i love it, you can be in north Wales in just over an hour.
It is picturesque here with a lot of history ( ROMANS) and it is fairly quiet not like towns, Preston is only 10 miles away with Blackburn 7 miles away.

How about moving to Bolton in Lancashire voted as having the Friendliest people in the country. Also within easy reach of the motorway network

Bromford in Birmingham. It's lovely, theres Star City, Fort shopping centre round the corner and few murders. And the M6 is within easy access

North Wales

Ludlow in Shropshire has friendly people, beautiful architecture plus a castle and is close to some of the most beautiful countryside in England - Mortimer Forest, the Long Mynd, the Stipperstones and Wenlock Edge.
