What are the best, non-touristy things to see or do in Glasgow if you only have a day? |
My husband and I will be visiting Scotland for 2 weeks for a friend's wedding and staying in St. Andrews. We would like to spend a day (early morning to late evening) in Glasgow and drive back. My question is - where is the best place to park our car so that we can tour the city and what should we take in? I have been there before but my husband has not, so I have a list of all the tourist traps (for him) - I am looking for great pubs, restaurants, and interesting local things to take in that you won't find in a guide book. Thanks! Don't worry, I will be visiting many other places in Scotland... but my husband would like to see Glasgow. Ignore the first reply; he/she is obviously a total idiot. Glasgow is now the most visited place in Scotland in by tourists. Here is a link with parking areas for you - http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/en/Residents/G... I live very close to Glasgow but honestly can't understand why anyone would wish to visit such a place! It's a vile, horrendous dump. There are so many beautiful places in Scotland - give Glasgow a total miss. Edinburgh is beautiful and there are so many wonderful rural destinations as well. You are wasting your time going to Glasgow for just 24 hours. |
