Are the Garthamlock and Ruchazie areas of Glasgow safe?

Garthamlock is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated north of the River Clyde. It is currently undergoing major refurbishment. Many of the original houses have been demolished.

Ruchazie is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated to the north of the city close to Easterhouse. The area has experienced considerable regeneration and improvement in recent years thanks to Tower Homes LHO and Ruchazie Housing Association. Ruchazie is a hotbed of trouble.

Ruchazie was where the Doyle family lived, who were killed as part of the Glasgow Ice Cream Wars in 1984. It is also were former Loyalist gunrunner Lindsay Robb was murdered on new years eve 2005.

Ruchazie is also were singer/songwriter Jim Diamond was brought up,he attended St Philips primary school which has recently been closed down due to the construction of St Rose Of Lima primary in neighbouring Craigend Glasgow.

No, are you mad? lol

They are really 'rough' areas.

Is the Pope a Catholic?

All of Glasgow is safe, go to Iraq, Afganastan and many cities in South American then you will know what an unsafe place really is.

People that think Glasgow is unsafe need to get out see the world then they will appreciate Glasgow for the truly world class city that is is.

Glasgow is not as bad as people may think it is. You get good and bad everywhere.

It's like any other town, there are good and bad areas. Garthamlock isn't as bad as people think anymore, it's going through major refurbishments and many of the original houses have been demolished. As for Ruchazie it's the exact same, the area has undergone considerable regeneration and improvement in recent years.

I'm not sure why you're asking, if you are thinking of moving to the areas or visiting, or even just curious, but i would say the areas are no more dangerous than any other throughout the UK.

Well, they definitely aren't the "nicest" areas of Glasgow.
For a start, I doubt there is anywhere to stay round about there, and there isn't much to do either, so I don't really see why you'd want to go there..

The areas are a bit rough, and you may encounter the odd ned or addict, but if you just want to wander through it, I'm sure it'll be no problem.
