Travelling from Glasgow prestwick airport to edinburgh? |
ive seen various methods online but would really like a rough price..maybe cheaper to hire a car? If the flight in to Glasgow is new within the last 6 months, for example the Ryanair Belfast city one, your rail travel is free to Edinburgh(basically free to anywhere from Prestwick airport). If the flight is over 6months old ur rail is half price. It cost me about 拢15 for return train Edinburgh-Glasgow Prestwick and that's 4 trains altogether when flyin with an over 6month old flight! As I was travelling from Edin, I got my ticket there but when ur coming FROM glasgow if you show ur flight documentation (confirmation numb and passport) at airport information desk u get ur whole ticket free or else half price depending on how new flight is. Well I'm in Glasgow and it costs about 拢30 from here to Preswick airport, I'd add another 拢30 at least to that if youre travelling to Edinburgh. Hope that helps x People seem to forget how small Scotand really is...you can drive from Glasgow to Edinburgh in about 2 hours. Your plane ticket gets you free travel to Glasgow Central on the train! You are then less than 拢10 to Edinburgh. Don't even contemplate any other option. Just go to Glasgow, its where most tourists coming to Scotland go now. the train station is at Prestwick take you to Glasgow central then you go to queens st station to get to Waverley station Edinburgh or a bus direct and takes about 2hrs cost one way 22 quid approx by bus and 25 quid by train you could hire a car for a bout the same and get there in just under 2hrs hassle free to your destination?good luck hope this has helped you? get a standby flight Your plane ticket gets you free travel from Prestwick to Glasgow Central on the train. Then a train ticket to Edinburgh Haymarket or Waverley costs 拢9.70 changing at Glasgow Queen Street. Takes 55 minutes. Its only 50 miles to Edinburgh so driving takes 1 hour. take the bus it the cheapest |
