Carbon monoxide? important!? |
i came home today around 4, and our carbon monoxide detector weas going off. there air is not heavy and there are not really any funnky smells. i left the house until now and only came home because it was freezing outside and i have nowhere to go. my dog was home all day, and he is fine. i'mnot sure how long the detector was going off. none of my other applications like the stove, etc are messed up. the clocks on them are fine, etc. should i leave my house? it might have just been that the detector needs new batteries. but yes, advice?! please hurry If your dog was in the house all day and he is ok then it is the batteries in your detector that need replacing...ours goes off when the batteries need replacing as well... Glad that's all it was...but you really should check the batteries on a regular basis! Report It yea that happend to me Why not have the fire dept check it out just to be on the safe side? the dog would have died, Check the batteries and then get a new one and check it with that aswell. they dont cost that much. Call the fire department or an emergency room of a hospital, and get their advice on how to proceed. Carbon monoxide is odorless and colorless. You would not be able to smell it. You get a headache from it, and then you just get sleepy, and I'm not all that sure that, if you are breathing it, your judgment is all that good. But I do believe that the fire department might be able to help you out with an inspection. This is a potential emergency, you know, and you have all the right in the world to reach out to the police, fire department or an emergency department of a hospital to get the advice you need to guide you safely though and out of your predicament. Call right away. |
