Things to do in Tasmania?

GOING TO TASSIE FOR 10 DAYS, WE HAVE A CAMPERVAN.
COULD YOU PLEASE LIST THE PLACES AND ATTRACTIONS NOT TO BE MISSED.
ALSO IF THERE ARE ANY GOLFERS READING WHAT GOLF COURSES SHOULD BE PLAYED?

10 days is not long in Tassie, some people can't do it in 10 months. I live here and work in tourism so i recommend that you pick a few places and see them and don't rush it. The worst thing is going on holidays and trying to pack in too much and not getting to relax at all, i see heaps of tourist in such a rush to get to the next stop. That's no way to spend a holiday.

My top list would be:
Strahn - if you have a bit of money as it has "tourist" prices for everything there
East Coast - Coles Bay, Frecinet National Park, Bay of Fires
Port Arthur - night time ghost tour
Hobart - Salamanca Markets, Botanical Gardens
Launceston - Cataract Gorge, Drive up to George Town along the Tamar wine route
North West - Cradle Mountain area
Deloraine - 41 Degrees South Salmon Farm! (my work) :)

Hope this helps. Have a great time!

Been a while since I was in Tassie. But try the official holiday guide for there - http://www.discovertasmania.com.au/home/...

Hobart in Tasmania, Australia, is one consider as one of the world鈥檚 most beautiful capital cities. It is also Australia second-oldest city. Over here, you can find antique stores, local arts and crafts, street cafes, music etc. Things worth to see and do are, Cadbury Chocolate Factory, Cascade Brewery, Bonorong Wildlife Park, Mt Wellington, Battery Point, famous Salamanca Market, Blackaby鈥檚 Sea Kayaking, Wrest Point Casino, Bruny Island. Finally, taste fresh seafood from a punt o the Hobart waterfront.

You can also try Huon Valley, which is 30 minutes south of Hobart. Over here, you can catch and cook your own trout at Snowy Range, Judbury.

Hope this helps. If you need other information, see if the websites are helpful.

Hi
I'm sure you will have a great time - just remember that Tassie is known to feature four seasons in one day so make sure you bring some warm clothing with you - even in summer.
Comfortable shoes are also a must too, you can't enjoy yourself if your feet hurt! The East Coast is very scenic as the highway weaves along the coast-line and you should make sure you see our West Coast before Gunns (multi-million dollar timber company) gets its hands on all our native forest...
If you are travelling around Christmas time I would recommend pre-booking your caravan parks as the better ones book out over this time.

Try Barnbougle Dunes Golf Links near Bridport (north-east), this has been rated one of the top 50 links courses in the world - http://www.barnbougledunes.com.au/
