Have you ever visited Hobart, Tasmania and if so what did you think of it, and .....? |
what did you do while you were here? Did you see any of the sights, which ones? Would you recommend visiting Tasmania to your friends? Did you like the food? Did you think it was too expensive? I have visited Tasmania and Hobart, for that matter, several times. I would highly recommend a holiday there. Not only is it very beautiful, it also boasts the cleanest air in the world. Even though it's Australia's smallest state, you can get right away from it all there. Lovely winding country roads, beautiful beaches, quaint villages. There are pristine rainforests, rolling green hills and wonderfully friendly people. Some parts of Tasmania remind me of England with gum trees!! I've visited Tasmania, but didn't make it down to Hobart. Loved it though. I;d definately go back, and see the south end this time I spent 3 days in Hobart last year for the first time. I loved it and would certainly go back. The harbour is really lovely surrounded by many very steep hills. We went into the information centre for the buses in the centre of town and the lady was so helpful giving us the number for the buses to catch to various places of interest. We took a bus to Nelson hill and had spectacular views and the look out at the top gave us lots of information from the past and how the radio station worked in the days of the convicts. apparently there is a super walk through tracks down to the bottom. We visited the casino where we had lovely meals. Join up if you go , It's free and you can get discounts on the meals. There are some lovely day trips to do Chocolate factories . Freycinet national park.Port Arthur although most people love going to Port Arthur it wasn't really my sort of place, the drive out there was lovely . Hobart reminded me a little of Wellington in New Zealand. I didn't find it expensive about average . So I would certainly reccommend a holiday in Hobart. |
