Santa Ponsa?

Im thinking of going to santa ponsa and travelling into magaluf for the clubs and stuff but it's myfirst holiday abroad without my parents and I want to know how safe it is over there. Has anyone had any problems or bad experiences over there?

Well Santa Ponsa is as safe as anywhere in Spain is. As long as you are careful and treat your possession like the crown jewels, you should be okay. I don't know where you are like when drinking, but its best to drink in moderation so you know what you are doing at all times. Don't get so drunk that allows anyone to take advantage of you.

I went to Santa Ponsa a few years ago and it was nice then. The beach front has recently been re-developed and is even nicer now. When I was last there, there wasn't a great deal of pubs around, (not like Magaluf), but there was a group of irish pubs in a cluster (irish pubs are usually expensive).

To travel to Magaluf from there, you can catch a bus but it takes about 45 mins. You would probably have to get a taxi back, so expenses would be sky-high.

I would recommend that you look into going to Palma Nova. Its about 45 mins from Palma Airport (closer then Santa Ponsa) and about 10 mins from Magaluf.

I have been to Palma Nova many times and the best thing I like about the place (night-life wise) is you are near enough to Magaluf to walk or catch a taxi (about 5/10 in a taxi and about 15 euros) but far enough away so you don't have trouble from 'lager-louts' or noise.

There are also plenty of bars in Palma Nova itself, so if you wanted a change from Magaluf theres plenty to choose from.

Palma Nova itself is a lovely area, its nice and clean. You can also travel to Santa Ponsa for the day to see whats it like from there too by bus. I stay in the Bigote Hotel, which is for younger people but again not too noisy.
